Susan Dritsas
Susan was born and educated in London, England. With a professional background in business administration, Susan worked in London and Athens, Greece, before a growing interest in early bilingualism in children prompted a career change to teaching English as a foreign language. Guiding her own two sons through three different school systems (Greek, French and Swiss-German) gave her an added insight into the way children acquire language skills. Susan has been involved with the FEC since its founding in January 1997 and is still teaching with passion and imagination. She was the Club's manager for five years and is today responsible for placing children on the Kids' club courses. Susan's speciality is working with 9-12 year olds, but she also enjoys teaching teenagers and adults in tailor-made private classes. She likes the challenge of teaching English for Special Purposes (ESP) related to subjects as varied as air traffic, cosmetics or midwifery!

Maria Cazares
Maria was born and educated in California, USA. As the daughter of Mexican immigrants, her experience growing up in a multicultural and multi-linguistic environment led her to pursue a career in Sociology studies. A summer semester of travel and language studies in Milan, Italy, turned her interests to the broader realm of International Relations and eventually led to a long term stay in Europe. In 2008 she graduated from the Lugano based American university, Franklin University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations. The following year, her marriage to her Swiss fiancé led to a more permanent move to the German speaking part of Switzerland. Always interested in being active in a multicultural environment Maria worked with us at the Club from 2010 to 2012 as an assistant teacher in playgroup. After gaining some experience in an international NGO she decided to go back to teaching and trained with Flying Teachers to become a CELTA certified English teacher. She is taking on some of our native speakers’ classes in summer 2014 - with lots of fresh ideas and big enthusiasm!

Beatrice Lauber
Beatrice comes from Aarau in Switzerland. A fluent German, French and English speaker, Beatrice obtained a PhD in Biology at the University of Lausanne before returning to the German speaking part of Switzerland with her husband. A move to London, England with her young family triggered an interest in teaching English to children on her return to Switzerland. At the time, this was a new concept and it was from the conviction that very young children learn languages effortlessly that the Fun-tastic English Club Horgen came into being. Beatrice was its driving force until 2003 when a further move to Hong Kong allowed her finally to take the CELTA course and become a certified English teacher. As Beatrice had been teaching German at the Goethe Institut in Hong Kong, at her return to Zürich in 2007, she enrolled on a course to teach German to adult learners (SVEB1) and graduated in summer 2008. At that time she also rejoined the Fun-tastic team as manager and teacher. She enjoys the variety of tasks running the Club but also teaching different age groups from Kids' Club to adults, in group- or private lessons.
